Pat Fitzgerald fired; 5 candidates for new Northwestern HC

CHICAGO (BVM) – Northwestern University announced the dismissal of head football coach Pat Fitzgerald on Monday following an internal investigation of hazing and accusations of racism within the program. Fitzgerald served 13 seasons as head coach following four years playing for the Wildcats in the 1990s.

Last season, Northwestern was one of the worst teams in the FBS, finishing the year with a 1-11 record. Now, the Wildcats will be looking for a new head coach to help the program rebound through a difficult time. Here are five potential candidates to take over the Northwestern team.
