The Gamecocks are home to arguably the best power hitter in college baseball in Ethan Petry. Now imagine throwing Montgomery right behind him in the lineup. South Carolina is losing quality arms in Jack Mahoney and Will Sanders, so it could use as much pitching depth as it can get for 2024, something Montgomery can handle in a bullpen role.
