Clausen, like Sanchez, is another quarterback who parlayed standout high school and college football careers into an NFL draft selection. Oaks Christian School never lost a game that Clausen started during his high school football career (42-0) and in 2006 as a senior, he threw 49 touchdowns to lead the Lions to their first-ever Division III state title.
Dubbed 鈥淭he Kid With The Golden Arm鈥� by Sports Illustrated and considered a 鈥渙nce-in-a-decade鈥� quarterback talent by recruiting analysts, Clausen committed to Notre Dame as the since Ron Powlus in 1993. He went on to throw for 8,148 yards and 60 touchdowns across three seasons (2007-09) with Notre Dame before being selected in the second round (48th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers.
