3. Terry Kirby, Tabb (1985-88)
Once the most prolific running back in Virginia鈥檚 history, Kirby has since been passed by some other rushers but that doesn鈥檛 make his accolades any less impressive. Kirby still ranks third all-time in rushing yards with 7,428 yards while ranking fifth in rushing touchdowns with 105, sixth in scoring with 618 total points, second in 100-yard games with 36 while also still holding the records for consecutive 100-yard games with 26 and most career attempts with 995.
The running back decided to stay close to home at the college level, joining the Virginia Cavaliers. With the Cavs, Kirby was historic as he racked up a then-program record of 3,348 rushing yards, a mark that still ranks third in program history today. After his time at Virginia, Kirby was drafted in the third round of the 1993 NFL Draft and spent 10 seasons in the NFL recording 6,097 total yards and 43 total touchdowns in 110 career games.
