3. Michael Bates, Auburn (2007-2010)
Bates became the starting quarterback for Auburn halfway through his freshman year and what followed was one of the best high school careers in Illinois history. Bates finished his career with 8,747 passing yards, the third most in the history of Illinois high school football. The Trojan quarterback then went on to play football for Illinois College.听
The career passing-yardage record is 9,752 by Aurora Christian's Jordan Roberts (2005-08). Auburn's Michael Bates 3rd at 8,747.
