2. Andy Kaufmann, Routt/Jacksonville (1984-88)
Kaufmann wowed fans in the mid-80s. He would in high school. And he with 97 straight games scoring in double figures. Kaufmann’s 3,160 total points put him at No. 2 in state history. He then parlayed that into greater success with the Illinois Fighting Illini.
A buzzer beater from Andy Kaufmann lifted the Illini past Iowa, 78-77 on February 4, 1993.
