1. Marcus Houston, RB, Thomas Jefferson – 0.9980
Houston will forever go down as one of the best to do it in Colorado, and his 0.9980 composite rating is No. 71 all time nationally. He was also ranked No. 5 in the nation in the Class of 2000, and was deemed the country鈥檚 No. 1 running back. Houston鈥檚 impressive senior season at Thomas Jefferson High School aided in those rankings, as he rushed for over 1,700 yards and 28 touchdowns.
Coming out of high school, Houston had his choice of high-level programs to play for, but ultimately became one of the most highly-touted recruits to join the Colorado Buffaloes. Unfortunately, the 6-foot-2 running back鈥檚 career would never quite live up to the billing. Just a few games into his freshman year, Houston suffered a season-ending injury, and would deal with ailments the next few seasons as well, leading to low production while . As a result, Houston finished his college career at Colorado State, rushing for 842 yards in two seasons with the Rams.
