8. Scott Russell, Evarts (1988-91)
Russell is one of the state’s all-time greats. In 1991, leading rusher in Kentucky high school football history. He was the first to clear 7,000 yards. Russell ended up with 7,090 rushing yards. He capped off his high school career with a Mr. Football award.
The former signal-caller has stayed close to the game. In 2011, Russell was named head coach at rival Knox Central.
Evarts star Scott Russell earned Kentucky Mr. Football honors in 1991 after totaling 2082 rush yards & 108 tackles.
