Top Kentucky guards in the NBA from the John Calipari era
John Wall
Wall was the original Kentucky guard to become a star in the NBA after playing for Calipari. Wall was drafted first overall in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards. He went on to be a five-time All-Star for the Wizards and was third-team All-NBA in 2017. Wall averaged 19 points, 9.2 assists and 1.7 steals while with the Wizards and led the franchise to four playoff appearances. Unfortunately, injuries have plagued Wall over the last five years of his career and he has bounced around the league. However, his time in Washington is worth remembering and he set the precedent for Kentucky guards in the NBA.
