Colin Fisher鈥檚 small-town rise as MLB draft prospect
NOBLE, Okla. (BVM) 鈥� Colin Fisher has spent his entire life in the small town of Noble, Oklahoma, and he would not want it any other way.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a nice town,鈥� Fisher said. 鈥淓verybody knows everybody in the community. If you need someone, just call them up and they are there in five minutes.鈥�
Fisher loves his hometown which has a grand total of one traffic light, but his baseball ability may eventually carry him to a larger city with a major league team.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound southpaw sits low-to-mid 90s with his fastball and uses a good curveball and changeup to round out his three-pitch mix.
Fisher had a great sophomore season for Noble High School that put him on the radar of college coaches, and he would later announce his commitment the following fall to the University of Arkansas.

鈥淎s soon as I started talking with the coaches, I connected with them,鈥� Fisher said. 鈥淚 just felt comfortable with them. All of the facilities were amazing too.鈥�
He has continued his rise and has attracted pro scouts throughout his senior campaign, giving himself options for his future.

The results of the MLB draft in July will make Fisher鈥檚 future clearer, but he has put himself in a very favorable situation regardless of what happens.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a win-win,鈥� Fisher said. 鈥淣o matter what decision I pick, it鈥檚 gonna be the right one.鈥�
Fisher has always had the mindset of living up to the standard that he has set for himself, which is something that will carry over to Fayetteville or the minor leagues.

鈥淚f someone tells me to do something, I鈥檒l do it,鈥� Fisher said. 鈥淚 don鈥檛 want to let people down. If I feel like I鈥檓 not doing my best, I鈥檒l try harder. If I鈥檓 not, I鈥檓 not helping out my team as much as I could.鈥�
The 18-year-old has aspirations of the major leagues at some point no matter where he spends the next few years, but one thing is for sure, when he steps on a big league mound for the very first time, he will not be letting down his hometown of Noble.
