Top 10 highest-rated Michigan HS football players since 2000
3. LaMarr Woodley, LB, Saginaw – 0.9972
There are a few guys on this list who went on to have pretty special careers after their time in Michigan, and Woodley is certainly one of them. The future Pro Bowl linebacker got his start at Saginaw High School where he became a state champion playing alongside one of Michigan鈥檚 other elite high school football players at the time: Charles Rogers. His play led him to become the No. 4-ranked recruit in the country in the Class of 2003, and he is still the 113th highest-rated recruit nationally since 2000.
Woodley went on to play at Michigan where he absolutely shined, being named first-team All-Big Ten, a unanimous first-team All-American and the 2006 Big Ten Player of the Year. In 49 games for the Wolverines, the star linebacker made 177 tackles, 52.5 tackles for loss, and 24 sacks, the latter two being top-five marks in program history.
Woodley was selected No. 46 overall in the 2007 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. In his second year in the league, he became a Super Bowl champion, and then earned his first Pro Bowl nod in his third season in the NFL. The Michigan standout remained with Pittsburgh through the 2013 season before closing out his NFL career with the Raiders and Cardinals.
