Rumson-Fair Haven takes home NJSIAA Group 1 Girls Lacrosse Championship
RUMSON, N.J. — On June 10th, 2023 Rumson-Fair Haven defeated Mountain Lakes to take home the NJSIAA Group 1 Girls Lacrosse Championship title. RFH displayed admirable work in the Shore Conference Tournament and earned the number one seed from both boys and girls lacrosse teams. As well as the Group 1 title, RFH Girls Lacrosse brought home their 10th Shore Conference Tournament Title on May 23rd, 2023.
Rising Junior, Rachel James, Rumson-Fair Haven鈥檚 top scorer this season, delivered a hat trick during the Shore Conference Championship Game. With 67 goals ending the season, Rachel James helped her team with a victory scoring 5 goals in the NJSIAA Group 1 championship at Hunterdon Central High School.
Six players that took part in the win, with four of them scoring hat tricks, include Daisen Iwan, Abby Boyle, Jackie Braceland, Abby Hawes, Julia Paterson, and Rachel James. Jackie Braceland, one of the four to score a hatrick and who will be expanding her academic and military career at West Point, acquired her 100th career goal within the last ten seconds of the game.
The team showed great teamwork, skill, and determination throughout the game, which helped them secure their 3rd state champion victory in school history. It was a proud moment for the players, coaches, and fans of Rumson-Fair Haven, and they celebrated the win with great enthusiasm just like their previous wins in 2016 and 2021.
