Top 10 leading passers in North Carolina HS football history
8. Brady Pope, South Iredell (2014-17)
A quarterback who started his career at the same time Caulder did, Pope took his game to an even higher level. In three years as the starter for the Vikings, Pope finished his career with 10,624 yards and 112 touchdowns, both which rank in the top 10 in NCHSAA history.
Pope committed to Charlotte directly out of high school, but after two years with the 49ers, he transferred to Iowa Central Community College. During the 2020-21 season, Pope threw for 780 yards, seven touchdowns and just two interceptions. In May 2021, Pope transferred to the University of North Alabama and during the 2021-22 season went 10-for-15 for 39 yards while rushing 14 times for 53 yards and a touchdown. Pope did not play in 2022 and is not currently on the UNA roster.
