Top 10 leading passers in North Carolina HS football history
1. Chris Leak, Independence (1999-2002)
Leak is not only a North Carolina high school football legend but a national high school legend as well. His 15,593 career passing yards still stand as the North Carolina mark and were the second-most in prep history at the time, now third. He also threw a then-high school-record 185 touchdown passes which now ranks as the second-most all-time.聽
He committed to the University of Florida and finished his Gators career as the team鈥檚 all-time passing yards leader with 11,213, a record he still holds today. The signal-caller also led Florida to a 2007 BCS National Championship victory.
Leak went undrafted in the 2007 NFL Draft before signing with the Chicago Bears as a free agent and spent a couple of seasons in both the Arena Football League and the CFL before he ended his playing career.
