Top 10 all-time leading rushers in Florida HS football
3. Emmitt Smith, Escambia (1983-86)
You do not have to have any connections to the state of Florida to know Smith. The NFL鈥檚 all-time leading rusher made a name for himself in the high school ranks at Escambia. He was the heart of two state champion teams and finished his time there with 8,804 yards. Smith ran for 100 yards in 45 games in high school. He wound up being decent afterward.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING 馃馃張 For those who grew up in the 90's, you may remember seeing local legend Emmitt Smith on TV every Thanksgiving.
We were able to dig up some clips of Smith when he played for Escambia High School to hopefully rekindle some of that nostalgia.
