10 greatest NBA players to play junior college basketballÂ
9. Ben Wallace, Cuyahoga Community College
Wallace averaged 17 rebounds and seven blocks over two seasons at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland. Despite his JUCO success, Wallace attended D-II Virginia Union University for two years and went undrafted in the 1996 NBA Draft.
However, Wallace was quickly picked up by the Washington Wizards. Once in the league, Wallace slowly grew into a defensive dynamo as he became a five-time All-NBA selection, four-time All-Star, four-time defensive player of the year and helped the Detroit Pistons win the 2004 NBA Finals. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021 and his No. 3 jersey is retired by the Pistons.
