Tesoro HS boys varsity lacrosse and titans lacrosse: Aim high
RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif. — South County boasts a lot of athletics, and the Titans Lacrosse youth club program has many reasons to be proud. Attending a lacrosse match should be added to any mediocre bucket list. Fast, exciting, dangerous, and never boring, lacrosse is coming on strong.
Head Boys Varsity Coach at Tesoro High School, Cameron Cole, has helped develop a considerable lacrosse following with the Titans Lacrosse youth program. Titans Lacrosse is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching fundamentals and life skills through good sportsmanship, leadership, positive coaching, and peer and parent communication. Supporting boys and girls of all ages, the Titans Lacrosse program encourages the growth of youth lacrosse in the community.
Titans Lacrosse has a 鈥渄rop-in鈥� model for busy kids looking to play lacrosse–they can 鈥渄rop-in鈥� to any practice. 鈥淲e provide an option for any lacrosse player looking to play, and we encourage multiple paths in a healthy and safe environment. We emphasize the importance of respect for teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials, and we not only strive to teach game skills, but life skills, as well as building lasting relationships with good friends,鈥� says Cameron.
The youth program makes transitioning to playing lacrosse at Tesoro High School easier. Head coach Cole and assistant coaches Easton Babbs and Gunner Garn are the backbone of the Tesoro varsity boys鈥� team that landed the 2021 South Coast League Championship. The support they give their athletes permeates their entire high school career. As one senior, Tyler Pandis, explains, 鈥淭itan Lacrosse has grown to be my second family and is the highlight of my school experience.鈥�
The popularity of lacrosse is moving as fast as one of the games. Tesoro High School student Caden Messman states, 鈥淭esoro Lacrosse has been a fun experience that has taught me about commitment, perseverance, teamwork, and friendship. I will be forever grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of this program.鈥�
