Washington rallies with seven runs in seventh, beats McNeese State to advance
Following a 1-0 defeat to McNeese State earlier in the day, No. 7 Washington looked like it could very well be the next team to suffer an upset in the regional round. In game two between the Cowgirls and the Huskies, McNeese State took a commanding 6-0 lead into the seventh inning, needing just three outs to advance to super regionals. However, the Huskies had a rally in them.
It began with fifth-year senior Madison Huskey getting a base hit. While Washington pushed three runs across after that, the Huskies were still down 6-3 as they got down to their final out. That鈥檚 when outfielder Sami Reynolds hit a bases-clearing double to tie the game, while Huskey would come back up for her second at-bat of the inning and hit another double, bringing in Reynolds to take the lead.
