Pickleball鈥檚 differing rules from tennis
Some may believe that pickleball is played on a tennis court, however, that is incorrect. There is actually a drastic difference in size between the two courts.
A typical tennis court is 60 feet wide and 120 feet long. A pickleball court is only 20 feet wide and 44 feet long. The biggest visual difference outside of the dimensions is 鈥渢he kitchen.鈥� The kitchen is a box that is seven feet on both sides of the net. It is generally a zone that you cannot go into to play the ball.
The only time you can enter the kitchen is if the ball bounces in it first.
The scoring is also different in pickleball with the format containing three numbers if it is doubles. The first number is your score, the second number being your opponent鈥檚 score and the final number representing the number of serves. However, if it is singles, there is no number for the serve.
Standard scoring is first to 11 points wins the game while needing to win two of three games, but this can vary from league to league.

The last remaining notable difference is the two-bounce rule. In pickleball, the ball has to bounce on both the serve and the return, unlike tennis.
