RayJ Dennis enters transfer portal; Top 5 landing spots

TOLEDO, Ohio (BVM) 鈥 Last season, RayJ Dennis proved he was one of the top mid-major guards in all of college basketball. Averaging 19.5 points, 5.8 assists and 4.3 rebounds, Dennis earned Mid-American Conference (MAC) Player of the Year honors as he led Toledo to a 27-8 record and a MAC regular season title.

However, in late March, Dennis announced that he was beginning a new chapter in his basketball career, declaring for the NBA draft while maintaining his college eligibility.

Recently, Dennis also announced that should he not go to the NBA, he has entered the transfer portal, and will spend what鈥檚 likely to be his final year playing college basketball somewhere other than Toledo.

A three-star recruit coming out of high school from Oswego, Illinois who didn鈥檛 garner much Power 5 interest, Dennis ultimately landed at Boise State where he spent the first two seasons of his college career, scoring around six points per game.聽

He vastly improved after joining Toledo for his junior season, averaging just shy of 13 points while shooting at a much better 50% clip. Last season, the 6-foot-2 guard also improved his 3-point shooting to almost 37%.

While it鈥檚 late in the transfer portal window, Dennis has immediately become one of the top guards available, and seems destined for an opportunity with a Power 5 school this time around. Here are five possible landing spots for the former Toledo guard.
