El Ellis enters transfer portal; 5 possible landing spots
1. NC State
The best fit for Ellis is in his own conference. North Carolina State showed interest in the point guard when he was coming out of Tallahassee so the familiarity is there. The Wolfpack is also set to lose their two primary scorers, Terquavion Smith and Jarkel Joiner, who are both guards. Include the fact that Ellis’ scoring average was sandwiched between the two in the final ACC points per game standing and the fit almost makes too much sense.
While there could be some things that may keep Ellis from going the NC State, such as not wanting to hurt the program he gave two seasons to or the assistant coach who originally recruited him to the Wolfpack no longer being with the team, the point guard would be wise to take a long hard look at the squad. Given the team’s ability to craft strong guard play and its need for help in the backcourt, Ellis and the Wolfpack could be a match made in heaven.
