Brandon Newman enters transfer portal; 5 possible landing spots

Similar to Kansas State, Xavier was a team that was interested in Newman as a high school player, but had a different head coach at the time in Travis Steele. However, the chance to play for Sean Miller is equally as enticing if there is mutual interest, and the move would allow Newman to stay within the Midwest. The Musketeers are also coming off a tremendous season in which they went 27-10 and made it to the Sweet 16. The team’s star, Souley Boum, will likely be gone, and standout guard Colby Jones could follow as he has declared for the NBA draft. As a result, Miller will need to bring some reinforcements to Cincinnati, and Newman could be the pick as a guy who has the kind of game that could emerge in a similar manner to how Boum’s did in the Big East this past season.
