3. Scott Niedermayer, D (1991-2004)聽
Niedermayer joined the Devils in 1991 after being drafted with the No. 3 overall pick. He made the All-Rookie team the following season, which sparked the beginning of a Hall of Fame career. During that career, he won three Stanley Cups with the Devils and won the , an annual award given to the NHL鈥檚 best defensive player, in 2004. He also has the second-most assists in team history (364).
Niedermayer joined the Anaheim Ducks and teamed up with brother Rob where they won the Stanley Cup in 2007. He also won his first Conn Smythe Trophy that year.聽
His No. 27 was retired by New Jersey in 2011 and he entered the Hockey Hall of Fame two years later.聽
