Top 10 NFL players who played in NCAA Tournament games聽
1. Antonio Gates, Kent State
The top basketball-player-turned-NFL-star, Gates was a star on the court for the Kent State Golden Flashes. He played 85 games over the course of his college career with both Eastern Michigan and Kent State where he averaged 16.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists.
As a member of the Golden Flashes for the 2002 NCAA Tournament, Gates averaged 18.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 0.5 steals across 38 minutes in four games. While he showed how well he could perform during Kent State鈥檚 Elite Eight run, Gates chose to begin his football career in the NFL where he put up Hall of Fame numbers as one of the top pass-catching tight ends in league history. He鈥檚 eligible for the Hall of Fame, alongside Peppers, next year.
People may remember that Antonio Gates played in the NCAA Tournament, but People Forget that he was an absolute monster.
