2. Amari Allen, P, Sherwood
Due to some confusion when creating these lists, Allen was left off of 海角社区鈥 top Class of 2023 baseball players list for Maryland and deserved to be on it. This is corrected here as Allen was also one of the top players in the D.C. area, being named the Washington Post鈥檚 All-Met Player of the Year.
The 6-foot-4, 225-pound southpaw pitcher is ranked as the No. 4 player in Maryland by PBR and the No. 1 player in D.C. by Perfect Game. Last year, Allen was explosive on both sides of the ball as he hit .516 but his best work came on the mound as he went 9-0 with a 0.56 ERA and a whopping 81 strikeouts.
Following his breakout campaign a year ago, Allen committed to Chipola College in November. The senior will look to build on his standout campaign while he aims to lead Sherwood to its third consecutive Maryland Class 4A state title.
