2023 March Madness 10 best players by region: West
7. Boo Buie, G, Northwestern聽
Buie is one of several seniors on this list, and is arguably one of the most improved players in all of college basketball. Northwestern surprised many with a second-place Big Ten finish that allowed the Wildcats to earn their second-ever NCAA Tournament berth, and it鈥檚 in large part thanks to the star 6-foot-2 guard. On the year, Buie has averaged career highs in points (17.1), assists (4.5), rebounds (3.3) and steals (1.2). He also shoots an impressive 87% from the free-throw line. While Buie could be slightly more efficient, he has hit big shots when Northwestern has needed them all year, whether that has been from 3-point range or driving to the basket, where his quickness often helps him blow by defenders. It鈥檚 been a Cinderella-type season for the Wildcats already, and Buie鈥檚 play could lead them on a Cinderella run this March.
