2023 March Madness 10 best players by region: West
9. Marcus Shaver, G, Boise State聽
While some may not be as familiar with Shaver as he plays in the Mountain West, he has been a tremendous playmaker over the past few years for Leon Rice鈥檚 Boise State squad. The 6-foot-2 senior guard is in his sixth year of college basketball after beginning his career at Portland, and is averaging career bests across the board with 13.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.6 steals. Shaver is a good shooter, but he can get to the basket and finish despite his size, and is ultimately the engine that makes the Broncos go alongside the likes of Max Rice and Tyson Degenhart. After struggling a bit in Boise State鈥檚 NCAA Tournament loss to Memphis last year, Shaver will look to finish strong in his final go around in 2023.
