2023 March Madness 10 best players by region: West
1. Jalen Wilson, F, Kansas
The defending champion Jayhawks have been one of the top teams in the nation again throughout the 2022-23 season, and the main reason why is the play of Wilson. On the year, the 6-foot-8 junior is averaging 20.1 points and 8.4 rebounds, a vast improvement from the 11 points per game he scored last year. Wilson is a dynamic player who can shoot from the outside, get to the rim and get to the free throw line, and the Big 12 Player of the Year has flashed all of those abilities as he has scored 20 or more points in each of his last five games. He will be a lot to handle for Kansas鈥 opponents in the NCAA Tournament, and could be the deciding factor between the Jayhawks, or a team like UCLA or Gonzaga, winning the West Region.
