The Houston Cougars are a No. 1 seed for the first time since 1983 and have an overall record of 31-3. They also have made Elite Eight and Final Four appearances in the last two NCAA Tournaments. Helping the Cougars make another impressive run in 2023 is AAC Player of the Year Marcus Sasser. He averaged 17.1 points, 3.2 assists and 2.8 rebounds this season and helped Kelvin Sampson鈥檚 program win back-to-back AAC regular season championships.聽
Heading into the Big Dance, Sasser will be nursing a groin injury, but he by Thursday. He will be instrumental in helping the Cougars return to the national championship for the first time since 1984.
