As a senior, the big man, who had a 7-6 wingspan and weighed 210 pounds, was hailed by scouts since he 鈥渆xcels running the floor, moves fluidly and is an impressive all-around athlete.鈥 As a junior, he averaged 18.5 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.8 blocks, and as a senior, 25.8 points, 14.8 rebounds and 5.5 blocks. Other accolades included being named the Gatorade National Player and co-MVP at the Jordan Brand Classic.聽
He chose Memphis over Arizona, Kansas and Alabama, but infamously only played three games due to a suspension from the NCAA. The No. 2 overall pick from the 2020 NBA Draft has still seen very little time on the NBA court; he鈥檚 played in 68 games and is averaging 10.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 0.7 assists. Although he was assigned to an NBA G League in 2022, he鈥檚 returned to the NBA court with the Detroit Pistons more recently, so it鈥檚 too early to call the 21-year-old a bust.
