As a high school senior, Davis was averaging 32 points, 22 rebounds and seven blocked shots. Other accolades included being named co-MVP of the Jordan Brand Classic All-American Game, after he scored 29 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked four shots.
Davis received almost every top offer in the country with the likes of Ohio State and Syracuse. In choosing Kentucky, the freshman led the Wildcats to the national championship game. Davis lived up to the hype and the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft is still making history as an eight-time NBA All-Star (2014–2021) and NBA champion (2020).Â
