Top 10 Kentucky HS baseball players in Class of 2023
4. Griffin Cameron, OF, Lexington Catholic
As the best outfielder in the state, Cameron comes into his senior campaign with high expectations. The 6-foot-1, 178-pound outfielder is ranked as the No. 11 player in the state by PBR and is the top-ranked player in Kentucky by Perfect Game.
Last year, Cameron recorded a .351 batting average with 33 hits, 27 runs, 17 RBIs, five doubles, three home runs and two triples. Unfortunately, his individual success didn鈥檛 translate to team success as his Lexington Catholic Knights went 16-14-1 and were eliminated in the first round of the District 43 tournament.
Despite the below-average team play, Cameron still managed to garner attention from top programs, including the Kentucky Wildcats to whom he signed with. Now a senior, Cameron will look to translate more of his individual success into team success this season.
I am truly honored and blessed to announce I have committed to the University of Kentucky. First off, I would like to thank God, my family, coaches, friends, and everyone else who has supported me throughout my journey.
