Top 10 Kentucky HS baseball players in Class of 2023
6. Raymond Saatman, P, Sayre
Another elite pitcher from the Bluegrass state, Saatman excelled on the mound last year. The 6-foot, 165-pound right-hander is ranked as the No. 10 prospect in the state by PBR and the No. 6 prospect by Perfect Game.
Saatman had a great year at the plate, but his best work definitely came on the bump. The junior went 8-1 with one save recording a 1.43 ERA, 93 strikeouts, 19 walks and 13 earned runs over 63.2 innings pitched in 12 games with 11 starts. His 93 strikeouts ranked No. 26 in the state while his 63.2 innings pitched ranked No. 27 and his 1.43 ERA ranked No. 40. He was selected as a first-team all-state member by the KHSBCA.
As one of the top players in the state, Saatman will also join a top in-state program at Kentucky. The senior will look to push his Sayre Spartans to a regional title this year after the team fell just short of that goal last year in a 4-2 loss to Madison Central in the Region 11 championship.
Congratulations to RHP Raymond Saatman on signing to continue his baseball career at ! We are so proud. Go Cats!
