10 teams who could make a Cinderella run in March Madness

1. Florida Atlantic

Florida Atlantic will likely be making its first NCAA Tournament appearance since the 2001-02 season this year. Unlike most other teams on this list, the Owls have been ranked in the top 25 this season, and should earn a relatively decent seed as they are currently by many outlets. A big reason why is their impressive 27-3 record that includes losses to only Ole Miss, UAB and Middle Tennessee.

The Owls have more than held their own in a relatively strong Conference USA that features talented UAB and North Texas squads – the latter of which pulled off an upset over Purdue a couple of tournaments ago – and have a nice win on their resume that came early in the season at Florida. Florida Atlantic also features a deep team headlined by 7-foot-1 sophomore center Vladislav Goldin and a talented sophomore backcourt duo of Alijah Martin and Johnell Davis. If the matchups break their way, the Owls could be a sneaky Sweet 16 team.
