Meet Piedra Vista All-American cheerleader Rebekah Freeman
FARMINGTON, N.M. — Cheerleaders, dancers, and mascots are invited each year to perform in the VRBO Citrus Bowl Pregame Performance聽at the Universal Orlando Resort as part of a select group of trophy-winning squads, teams,聽and All-Americans identified at Varsity Spirit summer camps across the country. Rebekah Freeman, a senior on the Piedra Vista High School Varsity Cheer Squad was one of two members from Farmington, NM who were selected as All-Americans at UCA cheer camp over the summer in Phoenix, AZ. Of the performance at the VRBO Citrus Bowl on January 2, 2023, Rebekah said, “My favorite part was meeting cheerleaders from all over the country and getting to perform at a college bowl game in front of a large audience.鈥�
鈥淲e are honored to provide them a one-of-a-kind opportunity, where they will meet and connect with cheerleaders, dancers, and mascots from across the country, and create memorable experiences at the Universal Orlando Resort parks,鈥� said聽Bill Seely, President of Varsity Spirit.
Rebekah and her family are also celebrating the recent signing of her college scholarship with Arizona Christian University in December to be on both the Cheer and Stunt Teams. She is very excited to begin her college career as a student-athlete.聽Rebekah stays busy participating in school clubs, and other sports, working part-time plus volunteerism, having delivered meals on wheels throughout high school.
