Meet Fort Loramie basketball player Ethan Keiser
FORT LORAMIE, Ohio — Basketball season is such a cherished time in our community. The smell of freshly popped popcorn, shoes squeaking on gymnasium floors, and elaborately decked-out student sections all set the scene for an exciting game of basketball.
Fort Loramie senior Ethan Keiser has a strong passion for the sport and gave us an inside look at his mindset and how he got to where he is today.
Keiser is a two-sport athlete, wearing a Loramie jersey both on the football field and the basketball court. He鈥檚 been playing basketball since the 4th grade, which means he鈥檚 spent over six years working hard on his skills and building lasting bonds with his teammates.
Fast forward to his senior season, and it seems as if all of that hard work has paid off. The Fort Loramie Boys Varsity Basketball Team has had a great season thus far, making big strides in their league. But like most sports, the strength of a team makes all the difference.
Ethan recognizes this fact and emphasizes the importance of the bond their team shares.
鈥淣o matter what you do, they will always have your back,鈥 he told us when asked what being a team member has taught him.
Keiser鈥檚 biggest accomplishment so far has been making seven three-point shots during games this year.
Athletes receive a lot of instruction throughout their training, but it鈥檚 always interesting to see what really sticks with them. We asked Ethan what the best piece of advice he鈥檚 ever received was, to which responded, 鈥淭o never take things for granted because those things can be taken at any point in time.鈥
As much as we wish it weren鈥檛 true, high school athletics don鈥檛 last forever. Keiser鈥檚 mindset going into his senior season is one filled with optimism and a passionate heart.
鈥淚 want to do everything I can to help us win and always have fun when I鈥檓 on the court,鈥 he said.
After graduation, Ethan plans to attend college for business in the fall. We can鈥檛 wait to see what鈥檚 in store for this bright young athlete and are grateful for the time we鈥檝e had to see him on the football field and the basketball court.
