Spain Park wrestling team鈥檚 January results
HOOVER, Ala. — The Spain Park wrestling team has been enjoying a successful season. Below are some key results from January events.
On Saturday, January 21, Spain Park JV wrestlers competed at Pelham High School, placing third and crowning a champion at 195 lbs.
Champion:
195聽聽Dakarai Shanks (2-0) placed 1st聽with two pins.
Second:
145聽聽Drake Gregory (2-1) placed 2nd聽with a pin and decision.
220聽聽Levi Howard (2-1) placed 2nd聽with two pins.
Third:
126聽聽Patrick Mcqueeney (2-1) placed 3rd聽with a pin and a decision.
145聽聽Jack Lutenbacher (2-1) placed 3rd聽with two pins.
Fourth:
126聽聽Kyle Fairless (1-2) placed 4th聽with a decision.
On Monday. Jan 16, despite only competing in ten of fourteen weight classes, the wrestling team placed second at the Dick Clem Memorial hosted by Bob Jones High School and crowned two champions with eight medalists.
Champions:
140聽 Bradley Williams (3-0) placed 1st with a pin and two tech falls.
172聽 Jackson Mitchell (3-0) placed 1st with three decisions.
January 14-15, the Spain Park wrestling team competed in the Southeastern Pools at Thompson High School, placing second.
The Jags crowned four champions:
138聽聽Bradley Williams (6-0) placed 1st聽with two pins and four tech falls.
170聽聽Jackson Mitchell (5-0) placed 1st聽with four pins and a tech fall.
182聽 William Conlon (5-0) placed 1st聽with three pins, a major decision, and a forfeit.
285聽聽Rayshod Burts (5-0) placed 1st聽with two pins, a major decision, a decision, and a forfeit
