College football’s winners and losers of transfer portal

1. Texas A&M

The Aggies found themselves on the opposite end of this year’s transfer window after losing several of the team’s big-name recruits from a year ago. With one of the top-ranked classes in 2022, headliners like Denver Harris, Smoke Bouie and Chris Marshall decided that a school elsewhere better fit their future plans. While the additions of cornerbacks Tony Grimes from North Carolina and Sam McCall from Florida State will add to the team’s depth, Fisher and the Aggies’ inactivity leave them at an interesting crossroads as they hope an extra year of experience pays dividends following a 5-7 campaign.

While Florida and Texas A&M were unable to land some of the splashier commitments out of the portal, one school in particular out of the SEC found itself on the opposite end of the spectrum.
