Clarkston wrestler Brady Vogt commits to Grand Valley University
CLARKSTON, Mich. — Local wrestler Brady Vogt has had a great wrestling career as part of the Clarkston Wolves wrestling team. A senior on an impressive team, Vogt has helped lead the team to some huge victories this year.
Most recently, Vogt won all of his matches at the Clarkston Duals on January 14th. As a team, the Wolves took down the number fifth and sixth ranked D1 wrestling programs and came in second to the first ranked D1 team in the state. As an individual, Vogt took down D1 number 11 and 14 ranked wrestlers and the D4 number two ranked wrestler to come away from the weekend meet undefeated.
Earlier in the year, the Wolves took first place in the Howell invitational where Brady also placed first, and they look to finish the season strong as they head into regionals at the end of the month.
After this season with the Wolves, Vogt looks forward to joining the Grand Valley State University Lakers and continuing his wrestling career at the college level.
According to his parents and coaches, Vogt got a late start to wrestling, but he quickly caught up and surpassed more experienced wrestlers.
“Brady had a plan to catch up, and I think he is there,” said Jen Vogt, Brady’s mom. “He still has a lot of work to do and even more goals to reach and we are very excited to see how the season ends and his future at Grand Valley. This could not have been possible without the help of so many people along the way. Thank you to all of his coaches and teammates who helped him become the wrestler and person he is today.”
