1. Alex Ovechkin, LW (2005-current)
By the time 鈥淥vi鈥� finishes his career in the NHL, the long-time Capitals star will go down as not only the best player in team history, but one of the best ever to play the game. While many wondered if any of Wayne Gretzky鈥檚 famous records would be broken, Ovechkin has done about all he can to make it into the conversation at the tail end of his career. With the move into second all-time in goals scored during the 2022 campaign, Ovechkin has etched himself into hockey lore as arguably the top scorer the league has seen. His Stanley Cup win in 2018 was the icing on his historic time in the sport.
