4. Jim McMahon, QB, BYU (1980 Holiday Bowl)
With his BYU Cougars trailing SMU 45-25 in the fourth quarter, McMahon took his game up another level to spur one of the greatest comebacks in bowl game history. In the final 2:33, McMahon led three scoring drives to help the Cougars win 46-45.
McMahon went 32-for-49 with four touchdown passes and one interception. This included a 41-yard Hail Mary touchdown in the final seconds that secured the victory.
