Of course, as with most things in life, the path to success is not always easy. Annie said that the most difficult components of her training have been maintaining a good mindset as well as getting through the more challenging aerobic practices. She also expressed that time management is a difficult but crucial part of being a successful athlete.
We asked Annie what advice she’d give to an underclassman just starting out as a swimmer, and she responded, 鈥淚 would tell them that it is a sport that takes a lot of effort and time but if you put enough time and work into it it will pay off. And to not give up if you aren鈥檛 immediately good at it, I wasn鈥檛 immediately good but I put a lot of time into it.鈥
When she鈥檚 not training, Annie enjoys spending time in nature, playing with animals, and going on walks. After graduating high school, she hopes to receive a degree in veterinary medicine and animal science. We can鈥檛 wait to see what is in store for this dedicated athlete!
