University of the Fraser Valley volleyball player Lauren Attieh named player of the week
ABBOTSFORD, British Columbia — Lauren Attieh was named a U Sports volleyball player of the week following dominant performances in November for the UFV Cascades in a pair of wins over the Saskatchewan Huskies. The national recognition came just a day after being named a Canada West volleyball player of the week.
鈥淚 think my success is tied with our team鈥檚 success,鈥� Attieh explained after finding out about the conference honours.
鈥淚 have a big appreciation for my team and the support they give to me, so I just felt like I could play free and just be myself, which I think really came out on the court and led to some cool numbers that I am really proud of.鈥�
Lauren chose UFV to continue her education in the Bachelor of Arts program and to contribute to making a name for the team in U Sports. It provides her the opportunity to play with her sisters Talia and Gabrielle. All three sisters are top athletes in their field.聽
