Meet Lucas area soccer player Cameron George
LUCAS, Texas — With eleven years of experience under her belt, Cameron George is a seasoned soccer player. The tough physical play that soccer demands is one of Cameron鈥檚 favorite aspects of the game. Running hard and playing aggressively in soccer not only helps work out the stressors of life but has the bonus of allowing her to be with friends.
Cameron鈥檚 pre-game ritual includes listening to rap or pop music. She also likes to consume an energy drink, then uses a massage gun on her quads to get them loosened up before the rigors of the match.
She has a couple of mottos she lives by. The first is 鈥淓verything happens for a reason.鈥� The other is 鈥淵ou are always enough, no matter the circumstances.鈥� Being a member of a team has taught her many things like being patient because you won鈥檛 always get your favorite position or the amount of playing time you think you deserve.
During the off-season, she makes sure to maintain her physical health by eating healthy and following an exercise routine. This helps keep her in body soccer season condition. Some advice Cameron has received has been to listen to input but to follow her gut instinct in making the best decision for both her and her team. One of her coaches has also given her advice that has helped during a game. The coach told her that if she makes a mistake to leave that mistake in the past in order to be ready to capitalize on the next play.
While she is not planning on continuing to play soccer on a competitive basis while in college, she is hoping to join an intramural league where she can enjoy playing while still having time to concentrate on her studies.
When Cameron is not playing soccer, she enjoys riding horses, walking her pig, painting, playing sand volleyball, shopping, and hanging out with her friends. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and maintains a 3.9 GPA.
