Pinecrest Academy girls volleyball team wins GAPPS state championship
CUMMING, Ga. — Sarah Brusch serves as the head volleyball coach for the Pinecrest Academy Girls Volleyball Team, alongside assistant coaches Tessa Stubbs, Aime茅 Faulkner, and Anna Oshinski. This year, the team won the GAPPS state championship. Coach Brusch is proud of team captains Valentina M. and Mayer H, who she said are both great all-around players. She also wants to give a special shout-out to two B Team Players, Camila C. and Hannah L, two 7th-grade players who stepped up when many of the players were out of town.聽
The team focuses on playing well in every game and leaving all you have on the court. They have a time of prayer during each pregame in preparation for the game. Ensuring anyone feels welcome, regardless of if they have played before or not, is a cornerstone of the team. After each point, they celebrate with hugs and high fives and have truly created an incredible community within the team. Coach Brusch shares 鈥渢he team was motivated this year by seeing they could accomplish their goals 鈥 which they did by winning the championship. I am so proud of this team.鈥
