Colts Neck HS inducts Brooke Hampton to Athletic Hall of Fame

COLTS NECK, N.J. — Colts Neck has had the privilege of watching some of the finest athletes make their way through its athletic programs and Brooke Hampton is one of them. Brooke, a long time Colts Neck resident and incredible top-star athlete is well-known for her fitness lifestyle and impressive skills in the sport of basketball. She has played within town from a young age and was recently recognized for her athleticism at the high school. Colts Neck High School held its Athletic Hall of Fame and Brooke was inducted alongside Lauren Clarke, Briana Jackucewicz, Michael O鈥橠owd, the 2015 Girls Soccer Team and Coach Doug Phillips.

Brooke Hampton鈥檚 long list of accomplishments at CNHS include a starter athlete for four years and team captain for three years. Beyond starting and leading her team she has also accomplished the following:

  • Most points in a single season
  • All-time assist leader
  • Shore Conference Championship 2008
  • 1st team All-Shore Sophomore, Junior and Senior years
  • 1st team All-State and All-State Group 4 for three years
  • Group 4 State Titles and TOC fInal championship runner up

After high school, Brooke attended West Virginia University and continued to impress on and off the court. Within academics, she made the Dean鈥檚 List, Big East Academic Honor Roll and Big 12 Academic Honor Roll many times. At one point in her basketball career, Brooke led the nation in the assist to turnover ratio statistic. She also made an appearance in the Big 12 Conference Championship and NCAA tournament all four years at WVU.

Brooke Hampton, a former D1 athlete has now turned into a fitness coach. Starting at the age of eight, she kept her body moving and maintained high level workouts multiple times a day. Brooke has felt fortunate to have many mentors to support her athletic and fitness goals. She has utilized the support of chiropractors, like Dr. O鈥機onnor of Velocity, physical therapists, dietitians, sports physicians, coaches, and professional athletes to educate and guide her on excelling in her sport and life. Brooke is now responsible for training and working with all different demographics. Her clients range from professional athletes, to the average gym-goer, to the geriatric population and everyone else in between. She primarily trains her clients online but also does some in-person work as well. Brooke places a large focus on strength training, HIIT workouts, functional movements, sport-specific exercises, stretching/mobility, and nutrition.

鈥淚 have been training people for free since as early as middle school. It was my passion from an early age and I truly enjoyed targeting individual goals and needs through custom workouts,鈥 says Brooke.

Brooke credits her success to God and family. She appreciates the constant motivation of her mom, Donna, dad, Don and brothers Todd and Scott. She also gives major credit to her incredible teammates and coaches for their support.

鈥淢y family has supported me throughout my entire life, which has made me a better athlete and person. I would not be the person I am today without them, ” she says.

What are words of advice from Brooke Hampton on accomplishing goals?聽

鈥淵ou truly can accomplish anything you want to. It starts with first believing in you. Then, you must take action, otherwise it will always just be another idea or wish. A prerequisite of success is having setbacks. They will happen, but it鈥檚 up to you to decide if you鈥檙e going to get back up and try again each time. Only you can stop yourself from getting to your goals. You鈥檙e going to hear some 鈥渘o鈥檚鈥 or 鈥測ou can鈥檛鈥 but that鈥檚 just the words of people who are putting their limitations on you. Ignore them respectfully. It鈥檚 important to have urgency and tenacity but stay grounded as well. Gain as much knowledge as you can through education and through people who have already accomplished similar goals you鈥檙e striving for. Have a stable mindset throughout this journey as things will go up and go down along the way. Ask questions and seek help when you need, teamwork accelerates the time it takes to achieve a goal. You must put in hard work, there is no way around it so embrace it. And finally, try to enjoy the journey as much as you can because that鈥檚 often where you develop many strengths and become a better person overall.鈥
