The only high school basketball player who can hold a candle to Bronny’s popularity is Williams. The five-star prospect became the first American high school basketball player to sign a sneaker deal with a global footwear company when he inked a multi-year deal with Puma at the age of 17. One of the most marketable high school athletes in history is also one of the best guards in the country. Fans crowd the gyms where Williams plays and many expected him to opt for the professional route after transferring back to San Ysidro (where he played as a freshman) to team up with Taylor. Instead, Williams and Taylor committed to Memphis on the same day to give Penny Hardaway arguably the best recruiting haul in program history.
