A top-40 player nationally in the Class of 2023, Yates has the tools and lineage to be special at the next level. His cousin is Quincy Pondexter – a former first-round NBA draft pick and now an assistant coach at his alma mater, Washington – and Yates will also soon join the Huskies. The four-star guard averaged 16.2 points and 3.2 rebounds on the Nike EYBL circuit last spring and summer before becoming Washington’s first commit in the 2023 class. Yates chose the Huskies over Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, Texas and others.Ìý
