Hamilton recognizes community coaches and athletes
HAMILTON, Ontario — This past October, the Hamilton Tiger-cats celebrated community contributors through their Night of Champions. Athletes and coaches were presented with prestigious awards, and we could not be more proud!
Mike Samson of Dundas Valley SS, and Chris Kurmirski of Sir Winston Churchill were awarded with a Community Coach of the Week. Kyle Mann of Dundas Valley, a great student role model and athlete, was awarded with a bursary from the Hamilton Tiger Cats and Stelco. The bursary is called 鈥楳ade in the Hammer鈥� and in total there were only 3 given out city wide.
Maleek Pryce of Sir Winston Churchill SS received The Chuck Ealey Black & Gold Award. This is presented to black student-athletes that exemplify the undefeated spirit of its namesake through commitment, equity, community, respect and sportsmanship. Congratulations to all of you! Thank you for sharing your leadership on and off the field!
