Get to know Farragut HS lacrosse player Brock Lockhart
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — As one of the former 2022 Farragut Middle School Lacrosse captains, Brock Lockhart is a leader. He is currently playing football this fall and preparing for a competitive Lacrosse season during his freshman year at Farragut High School in spring 2023.聽
鈥淟acrosse is growing in Knoxville and around the nation,鈥� said Brock. 鈥淚 hope more people recognize what a great sport it is and we have more people come out to play. I am thankful to all my coaches who have really helped me fall in love with Lacrosse. They have taught me so much and made me a better player and person.鈥�
Brock鈥檚 coach has advised him not to let distractions have a negative influence on his game, as Lacrosse requires mental focus and concentration. Brock loves that Lacrosse combines aspects of other sports like football (though the strategies are different).聽
Brock warms up before games by listening to music and playing wall ball before he leaves the house. He is very competitive and hopes to help his team win the state championship in high school, play at a D1 college, and eventually play professionally.
Brock was a two-year starter at Farragut Middle in 2021 and 2022 and the leading scorer in 2022. Last season, he played 17 games and made 48 goals and 26 assists.聽
鈥淐onsistency beats intensity seven days a week,鈥� Brock鈥檚 coach told him. Brock is consistently making gains out on the Lacrosse field.
